MORE ABOUT BROWSER STORAGE
A few useful distinctions.
Cookies & local storage
Cookies and local storage are different ways to store information in your browser. A session entry normally lasts for the browsing session. A persistent entry remains until it expires or is removed.
The Click to Chat entry ht_ctc_storage is local storage. It remembers chat greeting choices, dismissed notifications and chat opt-in status. It has no fixed built-in expiry and remains until the website clears it or you clear the relevant browser storage.
A cookie’s expiry is separate from how long a provider retains information on its servers. Cookie expiry alone does not describe that provider’s data-retention policy.
Google measurement
Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_0VQT4ZJEKH to distinguish browsers and maintain measurement session information when statistics storage is allowed. Google tags may also use _gcl_au for conversion measurement where the corresponding features are enabled.
Our Google consent settings follow your choices. When relevant storage is denied, Google tags do not read or write those cookies. Google Consent Mode can still send limited cookieless signals; refusing cookies does not necessarily stop every request to Google.
See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s explanation of Consent Mode.
Why can I still see a cookie after choosing Deny?
Withdrawing consent changes what the website is allowed to use from that point onward. It does not necessarily remove every cookie saved during an earlier accepted visit. Use your browser’s controls to remove existing cookies and local storage. You may then be asked to choose again on your next visit.
Why do consent cookies remain when optional categories are off?
Complianz stores your choice in cmplz_* entries, while the WordPress Consent API shares consent categories between compatible plugins using wp_consent_* entries. These names record your permissions; a cookie called statistics or marketing can record a denied choice. Its presence does not, by itself, mean tracking is permitted.
What happens when I open WhatsApp or another external service?
Opening a WhatsApp chat or following a link to an external service takes you to that provider. Its own privacy terms and storage practices apply there. Our cookie choices do not control storage on another website or inside an external app.
How do I clear browser storage?
Use your browser’s privacy or site-data settings to remove cookies and site storage for veran3d.co.za. Clear local storage as well if you want to reset chat preferences. Blocking all storage can affect essential functions and prevent the website from remembering your consent decision.
