VERAN / LASER CUTTING & ENGRAVING
Laser Cutting &
Engraving
in Pretoria.
Custom shapes. Personal details. Clear identification.
We help individuals and businesses create custom-cut pieces and engraved designs in suitable materials. Our diode laser handles cutting and engraving projects, while our fibre laser adds text, logos and identification markings to suitable metal items and components.
Send your design, dimensions and material details. We will review the artwork and confirm a suitable approach for your project.

WHAT WE CAN MAKE
Useful pieces. Details that make them yours.
Custom-cut shapes
Flat profiles, lettering, model components and decorative pieces cut from suitable sheet materials. Tell us the finished size, material thickness and whether parts need to fit together.
Engraving and personalisation
Names, logos, lettering and artwork on suitable surfaces. Projects can include signs, branded pieces and personalised items, with the material and placement reviewed before quoting.
Metal identification
Text, logos, part numbers and identification markings on suitable metal items. Nameplates, tags and components can be assessed for fibre-laser marking or engraving.
HOW WE WORK
Choose the process around the material.
Diode laser
Our diode laser produces cut outlines and engraved designs in compatible materials. Cutting passes through the material; engraving creates a design on its surface.
Material type, colour, thickness and design detail affect suitability and the final appearance. We review these before confirming the job.
Fibre laser
Our fibre laser is used for marking and engraving suitable metal surfaces. It can be used to add identifying text or artwork to an existing item or component.
The metal, surface finish, item shape and marking area determine the proposed approach. The depth and appearance of the result are agreed for the project.
MATERIALS & CAPABILITIES
Confirm the material before the cut.
Materials
For diode-laser projects, materials to discuss include wood, laser-suitable plywood and suitable paper or card. For acrylic, send the exact type and colour so we can confirm compatibility before quoting.
For fibre-laser projects, send the metal type and surface finish. Items made from metals such as stainless steel, aluminium or brass are assessed for the requested marking.
Material composition must be known. PVC-containing materials are unsuitable for laser processing.
Dimensions and access
Send the overall item size, the cutting or engraving area and the sheet thickness where relevant. Maximum working areas and cutting thicknesses are confirmed for your material and design.
The item must fit the setup and allow access to the surface. Curved surfaces, assembled items and restricted areas need a separate suitability check.
Appearance and finishing
Engraving contrast and edge appearance vary with the material and its finish. Wood may show darkened cut edges, and existing coatings can change how a mark appears.
Tell us if colour, surface appearance or fitting edges are important. Any sample work, cleanup, assembly or additional finishing is included only where agreed.

Laser Engraving for Occupational Health Equipment
The requirement
Engrave occupational health equipment details directly onto an anodised aluminium case for clear identification.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you get started.
Can I supply my own material or item?
Send photographs, dimensions and the exact material details before bringing or sending anything. We will assess whether it suits the equipment and requested result. A sample may be useful when the finish has not been established.
What artwork or files should I send?
Send the original .pdf, .dxf artwork for cut outlines where possible, together with the finished dimensions. For engraving, a suitable .pdf, .dxf file or clear, high-resolution image can be reviewed. A screenshot may require redrawing; any artwork preparation is agreed in the quote.
Can you cut metal?
The fibre-laser service described here covers metal marking and engraving. If you need a metal part cut out, send the material, thickness and drawing so we can confirm whether the requested work can be offered. Metal cutting is not included by default.
How large or thick can my project be?
This depends on the machine, material, item shape and design. Send the overall dimensions, working area and material thickness. We will confirm the usable size and cutting capability for the specific project.
How much does the work cost, and how long does it take?
Pricing depends on the material or item, artwork preparation, size, detail, processing time and quantity. Send your design and project details so we can provide a quote and estimated completion time.
